   I inadvertently stumbled across Doug’s wire recording preservation service while searching eBay for wire recorders. Without a doubt I can honestly say that sending him three spools of my families recordings from the late 1940’s will cause tears to flow at an upcoming family celebration of my father’s 90th birthday. My father, who made the recordings at that time, has not heard them since about 1949 as his oldest son, me, accidentally ruined the wire recorder. This gift to him, made possible by Doug, will mean more to him than any material object he may receive.

I had doubts about sending what I consider to be a family heirloom to a stranger.  After talking to him on the phone, I was convinced. Doug is a sincere and caring person who stayed in contact with me during the time it took for him to transcribe the wires.  Save yourself a phone call - buy his service and rejoice that it is even available.
